Raft survival reddit6/26/2023 So, I am back to report that I am now well into a new game on Normal with several fortified squares holding storage boxes filled with emergency supplies (40 wood, 40 plastic, 40 rope, a bottle of fresh water, 20 cooked potatoes, 20 cooked beets, a hook, a fishing rod, a hammer, a spear, and 5 collection nets). There are some games that are meant to be played co-op and are nearly impossible to solo, so I didn’t want to be wasting my time on a frustrating process if it wasn’t going to eventually pay off. That was really encouraging, because I don’t mind trying again and again until I learn a new skill, and it really helps to know that it’s not a fool’s errand. I’m really grateful for everyone who took the time to say that it is possible. The strategy is definitely not what’s holding me back, it’s all on my crap hooking skills.Įdited to correct a typo in the second paragraph. Hopefully, after a few more hours (more likely days) of practice, I’ll be proficient with the hook and I’ll be dragging in enough resources to keep up with all my needs (thirst, hunger, raft repairs) and build the research table so I can get the more advanced materials and protect my raft from Bruce more permanently, I’m still not able to survive long enough to build things up to a place where respawning is worth it, but I’m getting there. This is just some tips on early game survival. It help you get barrel that your hook can't reach, and help unstuck your raft from island. Paddle is really important in the early game. My starting item will always be a paddle. You can take your time cut those tree if your raft really stuck in place. You need to loot fast if the raft start moving. You can try to stuck your raft and use paddle to get out. You can eat water melon, coconut, and pineapple for early food/water on those small island. Bruce will not attack you if you are far away from your raft. Use a bait if you having trouble swimming to the island. Bruce only follow around your raft, not the player. Don't forget to build back when bruce eat those platform. ![]() They are cheap to build and you won't feel bad if bruce eat them. ![]() Jump down and swim, take this as an opportunity.īuild triangle platform around your raft. You can free loot everything near your raft when bruce is busy eating your raft. ![]() I think it is best NOT to kill/hit bruce. I play this game multiple time, starting from new game over and over again. Solo is actually way more easier to be honest. I think it is a struggle to keep multiple people well fed with a tiny raft. I am surprise people can survive this game with multiple player in early game.
